We booked this hotel last year and got it at a very good price. It's ideal for its location to the city centre. We came by bus and it's only a short walk from the bus stop on city square. We arrived around lunchtime, but check-in isn't until 3pm. As a result, we were allowed to check in our bags in the storage area until check-in was available. This allowed us to wander round for a few hours without the need to carry our bags around. We didn't choose breakfast when we booked, due to the price of £17.99pp, and wetherspoons just round the corner. However, at check-in, we were given the option to book breakfast at a discounted rate of £10pp. We.opted in, and it was very nice. All you can eat full English, continental, cereals, toast, juice, tea & coffee. Certainly got our moneys worth. The room was lovely. We was on the 12th floor, and had a lovely view over City Square. Massive comfortable bed, nice bathroom, ironing board, iron, hairdryer, and a small fridge. I'd also informed the hotel it was my 50th birthday, so they'd left me a card and a box of 4 chocolates, which I can only assume came from Hotel Chocolat, from around the corner. Plenty of tea and coffee as well. Check-out was just the same. We didn't need to rush off home, so we were allowed to put our bags in the holding area until we were ready to go home.

Always a friendly welcome. The staff are excellent and extremely helpful. Room and facilities are really good with the minor exception of the bed. Due to my health issues, a higher bed height would be better for me. The beds are firmer than a certain competitor, which might not suit everyone but the pillows and duvet are just right. Excellent bathroom. Shower over bath with dispensers of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided (none of the all-in-one stuff here). Sink has dispensers for handwash and hand cream. Good size of bath; decent depth, length and width. You can enjoy a long soak here in comfort. Sockets next to bed(s) on both sides. So no problem charging your devices. Extra sockets just above the long worktop/desk area if you need more charging places. Table on one side of bed(s) and cupboard on the other side. Good tea/coffee making facilities. Coffee; both regular and decaf. Breakfast tea and fruit teas. Biscuits. Tv good size and set up for bluetooth/casting your device.

The room was spotless and very comfortable, with beautiful toiletries in the bathroom. You won't need to bring shampoo, conditioner, body wash, or body lotion. All ESPA products and just gorgeous! Also 2 hairdryers to avail off, and lovely bath sheets in the bathroom. We opted for no housekeeping as we were only there for 2 x days and in replace of this we got 2 x free drinks in the bar (worth £18) If you are getting the bus to and from the airport, the bus stops right outside the hotel coming into the City Centre and just across the road on the way back to the airport. Highly recommend staying in this hotel.

The Location is excellent, right on City Square close to everything. The Airport bus stops right outside the door. Disappointing that the hotel bar is only open to 11pm during the week; for guests staying in the hotel a 12 midnight would be a nice touch. Rooms a bit dated but clean. Pillows not great but for a 2 night stay it was fine. We had a nice view over the square, and the staff were so helpful when our flight was delayed arriving - they helped me check in using the WhatsApp feature. Really helpful and reassuring- Andra was great. We will definitely stay here next time we visit.
